Instagram Day

A positive spin on Social Media and Mental Health.

I have some days that are child free. They seem so rare that sometimes I have no clue what to do. I try once a month or every other month to have a girls day/night. I’ll invite friends over for brunch or game night. Other times I just want to clean and days when I don’t want to do neither I do a “Instagram Day”.

What is an Instagram Day?

It’s a day dedicated to things I see on IG or any social media and think I can recreate them. I use the ‘Save’ functionality for things that I don’t want to get mixed up in my ‘Liked’ post.

When I see a recipe that looks tasty or a craft that looks doable, I add them to an ongoing list and revisit when I know I have time. One Saturday my grocery haul were items I needed to attempt a few recipes and supplies to make cup acrylic paint art.

This particular day was one that totally relaxed this person that doesn’t know how to relax.

My house didn’t get tidy. I didn’t make huge strides on a to-do list. Yet my fridge is full of food for the week. I enjoyed some “me time”. The lesson learned from this social media filled day was, sometimes you just have to do things for yourself. Putting yourself first isn’t always selfish!

* I am not the biggest fan of social media, however I do like the positive vibes I get from this particular Social Media move
